Fleur de Lis vs. the Double Headed Eagle

The Fleur de Lis and the Double Headed Eagle are both symbols associated with monarchies. There is even old talk that the Fleur de Lis was inspired by the double headed eagle of Byzantium. That does not make it on the Wikipedia page because Wikipedia is a folk encyclopedia. These are awesome symbols.

Either one is a good choice for an entity's symbol. Having French roots, I have seen the fleur de lis on plenty of items. It is crisp and clean. There is a simple beauty to it.

I am also a believer that the fleur de lis was a stylized homage tot he double headed eagle. The DHE is much more fierce looking and signifies the power of the monarch. The might as well as legal leadership is symbolized by the eagle's talons gripping a monarch's symbols. The two heads can look east and west to always have an eye on the borders and project the face of the empire to those barbarians. It is used quite often and very well by monarchies through the years.

If secession becomes a hot topic and mini-nations pop up, can we all agree to be a little creative? Fleur de lis or double headed eagle, let us try to match the creativity and fun of our European ancestors.

Grantland Shining Its SJW Credentials

Grantland is Sports for SWPLs, but recently they've moved leftward as Sports for SJWs. Yes, they are social justice warriors and care about sports. Not really. For a site supposedly dedicated to bringing back long form journalism, the pieces are still flighty and protect The Narrative. A recent laughter was the interview they did with trans* athlete Fallon Fox. This is not sports reporting. This is SJW propaganda and activism. The cause is trans, and the activism is acceptance and promotion.

Fox was a man, had a sex change and now is a woman. As a woman, he wants to compete in MMA fights against women. Now in regular human world, he'd be laughed at and then politely declined. In our weird world, Fox has had a few fights, but UFC has not called her. The interview starts with pushing the "why won't UFC sign you" line, which leads to discussion of how they might not be accepting and it is BS man. Ther eis bizarro talk of the "transition" and how Fox really is a woman, not just a guy who hacked off his junk. Fox tries to deny that there is any advantage to being a trans woman who would compete against ciswomen (this is ridiculous), but then goes on to talk about how fast she is. Remember, no advantage folks.

There is a lot of talk about the sexism and the promotional side of the business possibly discriminating against her and other butch fights. The great unspoken: this is prison culture. This type of fighting is prison fighting. Why are they promoting this for women in any way, shape or form? I liked the old UFC, and even today, it is cool because you can train for months, but one kick or punch and it's over. A huge help UFC received was the corruption of boxing. While the great American heavyweight died with Tyson's career, boxing also became so corrupt that people hated it. The middle and light weight matches were fun, but without the pull of a great heavyweight division or charismatic champ, boxing lost an edge. UFC and the MMA culture filled that void.

Something that is a bit quirky for this situation is Grantland itself and the journalist. Grantland did a long form essay on a trans* golf putter designer and received a huge media shit storm for "outing" that person who eventually committed suicide. Grantland ended up scourging itself publicly with apologies from multiple people. How much of this interview is a make up to that LGBT community? The journalist mentions being a friend of Fallon Fox, so we do know the objectivity here. There is none. If people worry about reporters becoming cozy with subjects for access journalism, what do we make of the journalist already being friends with the subject? Pitiful.

It is still a piece of prison culture from the ring presentation to the style. These men (and women) are master technicians and in great shape. It's still a sick sign of what we have exported out of our prisons. Now why would anyone pay to see two women do that? On top of this, how fast do we have to devolve where the largest sports media organ in the US is pushing for a trans* fighter to be allowed to fight? Broken down to its core, the SJWs at Grantland want to see a man who mutilated his body and took hormones to feel like a woman to be allowed to pummel women. That is not sports journalism. That is writing for the social cause du jour. I'll pass because if I wanted to read about trans* people being super cool and "just like us", I would watch Hollywood garbage.

72 Hours of MPC, PUA + NRX

Let's have some fun. How fun has it been this week watching the MPC Forum guys skewer the RooshV Forum (RVF) guys and "The Duck" wield the knife. This was mostly a twitter thing. The Manosphere guys tried to say it was a repeat of when Mike Anissimov picked a fight with the Manosphere, but it was not. I defended the Manosphere in that one. I've also defended Roosh to a true white nationalist idiot as well as praise his writing here and on Twitter. Roosh has now blocked the Duck and moved on to a new target, some media girl who mentioned him twice and now he's trying trolling/negging her for more clicks. Let's review though.

What exactly happened?

1. PUA Krauser leaves a comment that he labels as unpopular opinions in the unpopular opinion thread on an unpopular opinions forum (RVF). He said he thought many of the stories on the RVF were BS. He dispenses some real talk that hits on many different groups with general observations that SJWs would call racist stereotypes (no group was spared). The thread had some pushback on that and some members liked it.

2. Moderator Tuthmosis did not like that. That was a "problematic" post. He screencapped all the guys who liked it. Harrumph.

3. Roosh banned Krauser for a week. Krauser took it like a man.

4. The MPC forum guys got a hold of this and did what they do best: skewer people. The thread's name was "Too redpill for redpill", and they skewered a forum of guys using broad generalizations of women, who often write essays on their other website Return of Kings that paint groups in gigantic strokes suddenly taking umbrage at one person pointing out some weaknesses of their possible ethnic identities. If you think you're tough, the MPC buzzsaw will shred you. They made fun of guys using game because beep-boop women are just keyboards one can punch the right buttons on for swoopin' fly chicks since they are probably unlucky in genetic gifts. Honestly, this was some of MPC's best work.

5. Some folks jumped on this online since it was easy bait, and made fun of the RVF going SJW. Tuthmosis managed to say Mike Anissimov resembled Michael Cera (not a good one), and a series of people made sure to make fun of Tuthmosis since he's a manlet who can't go on the big rollercoasters at Six Flags.

6. Roosh defended his boy, and cited the need to moderate comments and ideas in a multicultural realm. We mocked this too. He doubled down and went in "Agree and Amplify" mode because every single person one may come into contact with is exactly the same. Rather than discuss the simple SJW behavior Tuts did, it became about race and racism and Roosh kept calling the Neoreaction crowd white power types, master race obsessed, even played victim about someone innocent being doxxed (WTF?) etc. blah blah, stuff I'd expect from Matt Yglesias' mouth.

7. Roosh wrote an essay on race not mattering but differences exist but let's not talk about them since we're all guys. Race differences don't matter in life unless you're a policy wonk (what about where to live, what schools to go to, or a host of daily living activities?). Keep buying my stuff.

Some context:

1. Roosh and Co have been earning street cred for taking on the SJWs. Very good work.
2. Roosh has stated the fear that one day, maybe some day, they will ban his books or outlaw his lifestyle.
3. Return of Kings as well as the RVF have made a past time about calling all women narcissistic whores, entire columns on why black women suck, why Indian women suck, etc.
4. The RVF is supposedly an open minded place. Albeit, they had rules that kept this tight and restricted for membership with banning privileges, they still were proudly claiming to be open minded and encouraging debate.
5. There is overlap of interests between NRX and PUA but this is not about NRX, just hypocrisy.

The entire thing was hypocritical. Don't scream about fighting SJWs and then the moment something hits too close to home, pull SJW behavior. It's the opposite of open minded to act that way. It's hysterical to hear about the fear of "the likes of me might be banned by SJWs" and then turn around and ban someone and give a BS excuse. Maybe he was pushing his stuff? Oh yeah because that is different than other promoters on that forum. It's just Internet posting. The MPC guys might have said it best with "you take the red pill and I show you some of the truth". After the fact, all everyone had to hear was "I banned Krauser for a week so that people could cool out as everyone was going overboard", which would sound pretty rational. Didn't happen. The dogs got called on Anissimov unjustifiably, and believe me, if anyone would make fun of him, it would be me, and this continued. Roosh doubled down rather than admitting his boy overreacted, which is hysterical since he is now mocking a journalist for overreacting to a few tweets. Roosh has a business to protect, so he's doing what he feels is best for it. I've seen enough threads to know being protective of the multikulti crowd would probably be in his interests. We may have discovered a new Internet type, the SJPUA. Dodge the criticism of possible lying and Paper Players and make racism accusations. Obscure the next accusation of hypocritical, SJW behavior and focus on racism.

There is something odd though. I have to read about being a married chump on these sites or that marriage is a raw deal or that the bold are going to foreign countries for glory. I lived abroad and it is fun. I am all for picking your path and walking it hard. Family life is not for everyone. I have friends in big cities pulling in hot women consistently, and they love their lives. Oftentimes in cities RVF members whine about, so maybe my friends are just handsome, have some cash and can talk to women without the need of coaching and web resources. I kind of view the PUA thing especially with a foreign travel PUA as a vampire's existence (I think Forney or 3Teh said that). I could go on about this, but I'll wait for Fathers' Day when the inevitable tweets about "it's a sucker's bet" get thrown out there.

I like the Roosh message of "improve yourself and be a better man". It's a great one few young men hear consistently in their life. Roosh has his various ebook promotion, website management and whatnot to run. That's got to be interesting in combination with foreign love. After a while it must be repetitive, like jumping from woman to woman where you go through a series of "firsts". Even in his writing, things seem to ebb and flow with darkness and some weirdness. A once in a lifetime opportunity would be to be a single man, no commitments, and you could live, report and document what is going on in Ukraine right now. It would be VICE style coverage from Kiev. This is a nation experiencing revolution, hyperinflation, and a civil war in the far eastern section. That is history. Hemingway and Orwell did not cover the Spanish Civil War, they fought in it. It ended up shaping their writing. No one should go that far, but what an opportunity to be there. I think you switched back to living in Poland. What a missed opportunity.

Don't mind me. Shucks, I'm just a married guy with little kids who stays in America. But there is one thing gnawing at me like Lt. Kaffee at the end of A Few Good Men. If men, as you say, should not put pussy on a pedestal, why are you flying 5000 miles to Europe for the chance to bang an 8?

They Progged Cartoons

Is television poison? Oftentimes it is. I'm not going to pull a Randall Parker and go condescending snob on you, "Haha you brainwashed poor little soul, you probably cannot help yourself". Thanks Dad, keep popping Vitamin D and eating almonds in your superzip, I bet the hordes of lumpenproles will honor that imaginary zip code border. Television and Hollywood is garbage, but occasionally there is something good. We cut the cable cord years ago, and Netflix and Amazon streaming through the Roku-box is our method of Hollywood consumption. It's pretty minimal for us adults, but the wee one does watch some things. That is how I grew to know Thomas the Tank Engine and write up a fake fandom subculture. One thing I do is watch the cartoon or live action show for messaging. Some things are never turned on again. One of those will be "Alpha and Omega" and its terrible direct to video sequels.

A simple Saturday morning with your kid pointing at the Netflix screen and saying "Doggies" can become a lesson in hybrid vigor. See Kate the alpha female wolf is suppose to marry an alpha male wolf, but she falls for smart Omega Humphrey. Alpha Garth learns to love Omega Lilly who has a hair swept over the eyes look (wolves can do '80s haircuts?). This is a big deal as alphas only marry alphas. Oh my God, the barriers are being broken down. The packs do not approve, but love wins out. Love also wins out because Kate decides, "no papa wolf, I will not marry the wolf you say I should, I'm making my own wolf decision". Yes, the inter-class or interracial dating message starts with little kid movies.

Further progressive messaging is in the direct to video shows. Standard modern progressive viewpoints. Exclusion is bad. Traditionally awesome people who are alpha and want to be the best or pure are morons, bad and never good. Exclusion is bad. Even in competitions, excluding anyone due to performance is bad. One character says (paraphrasing), "Yeah only the best compete and the best just happen to be alphas". Check your alpha wolf privilege, cub. Now a mom, Kate, turns out to have been such an awesome athlete that she once won the competitive games (grrl power). The wolves who like to compete are always portrayed as moronic, psychopaths obsessed with sports. This actually leads to a worse point, and one that our culture is awash in.

A character who is physically weaker is always smarter or more clever. A character who is physically stronger has a mental weakness. Walk through an Ivy League fitness center. You will find plenty of strong guys. Ask some weaklings tough math problems, and you will find weak does not mean smart. Both of these examples exist and may buck the common stereotype a tiny bit. They may be against type and less frequent in occurrence, but the average cartoon does not take this into account. In an age of be whatever your heart leads you to, pigeon-holing people with messaging from toddler on up that strong equals dumb and weak equals smart is not helpful. Smart people are born, but nerds are made. Once parents find out their kid is smart, they layer on nerd activities. This must explain why my friends and I could only scrape together 8 guys for pick up football games on the quad on Saturdays through my four years at Cornell.

Did Tom + Jerry teach us anything? Was Speedy Gonzales a stereotype of Mexicans with tons of Mexican jokes? Was the entire Saturday Morning Cartoon smorgasboard devoid of lessons? No, yes, and no, but we turned out fine. We scored higher on tests than kids today and with far less time devoted to school. Hollywood cannot just entertain us anymore. There has to be a lesson, and the lesson has to reinforce prog ideology. GI Joe taught us something about staying out of trashed refrigerators and away from downed power lines, but that was after the show. The show spotlighted awesome characters and vehicles that our parents could buy us for our birthday. Transformers were robots in disguise battling evil Decepticons. Things needed to be blown up, and toys needed to be promoted for sale in the holiday shopping season.

The propaganda is steady and force fed from birth. The prog propaganda is considerably worse today, so if you can stream an old Mr. Roger's Neighborhood or a Sesame Street from 1978, try it. They cannot just leave us alone. Not just in the news, not just in eligible voter age fictional shows, but in every single thing they spit out at us. Even the science fiction nerds who loved Quantum Leap were watching every week to see Sam Beckett jump back in time to fix the past in the good progressive manner. Maybe this cartoon series can keep churning out the terrible sequels, allowing for trans* wolf, gay wolf and occupy wolf den storylines. Hopefully not, and this terrible little cartoon can die from fewer viewers because kids just want to watch wolves run, fight and chase each other in the woods. No one wants to hear interfaith Kate and Humphrey teach their cubs on the values of including fat porcupines in the wolf Olympics to beat the bid bad, Aryan Nation wolf cubs from the north. Just give us "Wolf Wars" with the wolves running and fighting but throw in the occasional anvil to knock a wolf out until he pops up his head and his teeth fall out like piano keys. make us laugh, let kids be kids and leave the Marxist ideology for the schools to take care of in their daily lives.

Men's Second Aging

A couple of Internet and real life conversations came together, and then a well timed photo from old Roosh provided a side by side example of morphing from cave man to attractive male human. Men, if you are under 25 and think you're getting no uglier or more handsome than today, you're lying to yourself. Prepare for the second aging. It is coming. First some conditions.

1. You cannot be fat. If you're fat, this throws everything off because of the way fat people flesh out their faces and possibly throw off their facial dimensions.
2. If you're black, enjoy black don't crack. You guys seems to age at 13, then don't age (provided you stay in shape) until about 50, but then it all catches up to you in one year. Then you die at 63.
3. If you're Asian, enjoy looking young for 60 years, then aging all at once so that your skin looks like very thin paper. You can enjoy that for 30 years and then die somewhere around 95 but no one knows for sure because you've looked "ancient" for so long.

This basically applies to whites who stay in shape, but here it is. You hit puberty and age, but you're not done. You grow taller, eventually fill out after growing taller, and then in the late 20s it happens. Your face changes. Basically, your baby fat leaves your face and your facial features "sharpen" or "harden".

It does not always work though and yes, this applies to white women, too. For fails, I will bring up Prince William. Grerp and I were discussing him online, when I mentioned the 2nd aging fail. Let's look at him at 18 and today.

I could've picked any picture from his teenage years and into his early 20s. That was the most eligible bachelor in the world. Wealthy, would be king, English accent and he looked like a Hollywood star. How did he look during his recent swing through America?

Kind of a drop off. My wife almost did not recognize him at the Royal Wedding. You know who else had a horrible "2nd aging" and it ruined his Hollywood career? Mark Hamill. He also suffered a car accident that messed with his face, but here's his progression.

This is late 1976 during filming of Star Wars. He was in his mid-20s, and a pretty handsome guy who had he stayed that way, would have had all of the 1980s, action/sci-fi Michael Biehn roles. Here he is in 1978 for Corvette Summer; a terrible movie with Annie Potts. My wife saw a pic of him and didn't recognize him as Luke Skywalker.

Things could have worked for him, but then something happened.

That looks like a different person. It was 1983, so he was over 30 now. He had hit his second aging.

This happens to every in-shape white guy. Look at pictures of you and your friends. Hopefully, you have enough who kept the weight off. If you doubt it with some Hollywood actors who are always in the limelight and have been around for decades, look at their ages again. Deniro, Pacino and Harrison Ford all hit the big movies after they were 30. They had already hit that 2nd aging. Even the young Harrison Ford in American Graffiti was still 31. Be careful of mocking those girls who hit the wall, because while not as dramatic, you may lose the coin flip of the 2nd aging.

Tales from Weimerica: Incest is Real and Normal

It has been an interesting year in boundary pushing for Weimerica. The elite have moved from "gay is okay" to "trans* now and forever", but the seeds are being planted for the next fights. In the fall, the NY Times tried to make pedophiles victims we need to understand. NY Magazine's "Science of Us" one upped that in November to talk about bestiality being something we need to understand so people can come out of the shadows. What more could the brain trust at the Times want to push on us? NY Magazine's "Science of Us" is at it again with incest, getting the ball rolling with the friendly title, "What It's Like to Date Your Dad". Are you ready Weimerica, because the press says incest is the best, put your family to the test!

NY Magazine had the "What It's Like to Date Your Dad" interview. In the interview, the young woman explains her sexual relationship with her dad. Salon gives us the instructional post about genetic sexual attraction being normal. The Jezebel article linked to within that article about a young woman's tale is interesting. This is Salon's second go around at it with the first kind of defending small town life that commenters attacked in the original NYMag article. What is interesting is the spin where we have two women who were separated from their fathers for years strike up sexual relationships with their dads. The patriarchy is cited as are the common progressive notions of freedom, shame, etc. blah blah blah to make you aware that these women are normal girls. The big takeaway from the Jezebel article is that genetic sexual attraction (incest but for educated blue staters) is normal and real.

It is not normal. None of this is normal. Homosexuals make up 3% of America's population. It is estimated that 4-5% of Americans are psychopaths. We have more psychopaths than homosexuals, but no one would say the psychopathic mental state is normal. Incest is an even smaller subset. That happens in nature, so it might be natural but it is far from normal. The little rationalizations of protective fathers in the Jezebel article assign incestuous feelings to behaviors that are more virginity protection to have some say in one's genetic line. God forbid people care who their grandkids get their DNA from. Here is the other joke on this normalization attempt. What do these SWPLs and progs say now after calling red staters inbred, incestuous hicks for decades? They did it despite cousin marriage being below 1% in the US. It cannot just be cool because you guys are doing it now.

Here is the other bit that completely blows the normal claim out of the water. Check the girls' life stories. Here is the NYMag interviewee explaining how many stepdads she had.

Near the end of the time my parents had joint custody of me I had a stepdad. He took good care of my mom but she went through one of her stages again, so it ended. She had another husband who went crazy and tried to kill her. He was schizophrenic. Then she got with my brother’s dad and they dated for a while but when my brother was born the dad didn’t want anything to do with him, so I helped my mom raise him. Once he was about 3 she got together with my current stepdad and had my baby sister.

I count four stepfathers. I also count a mom bad enough that she has "one of her stages" as an excuse for terrible behavior. She also later in the interview mentioned having a girlfriend in middle school. She struggled with "chronic depression" in school. That entire package of childhood does not sound normal at all. That sounds like a horrible broken home life that the courts felt was better for you than living with your dad. This was a father though who was intimate with his daughter almost immediately upon meeting her as an adult. This is a broken woman who is part of a broken genetic line. They are getting married soon, so hopefully the fear of incest babies ends that genetic line.

The Jezebel writer is a bit more on the educated side, not a working class girl. She is turning her experience into a story. This is more the SWPL approach to incest.
But being the daughter of a let's-look-at-our-vaginas-together feminist who is also a sex historian with a specialization in pedophilia and sex offenders—topics that were often openly discussed around me as a kid—I found that the boundaries that existed in other families simply did not exist in mine. So when my dad started talking to me openly about his past sexual encounters, it felt fairly normal.

That is not normal. That is out of the Lena Dunham Family Hannukah storybook. The normal human thing is when a sex scene comes on in a movie, you say "I'm gonna get some soda and popcorn" and leave the room. Looking at each other's vaginas and talking about your sex historian work might be outside the normal spectrum.

The two women also willingly and consensually agreed to sex with their dads. There is definitely some genetic dysfunction going on, but in their childhoods, there are weird things that the human life experience sandbox is ill-shaped and missing boundaries. The Jezebel writer talks of the dark spell cast over her where she couldn't leave him for some odd reason and kept blowing her dad. The NYMag interviewee is a bit odder. There is no anger in her words, only love, and one can be left feeling happy for her, but wondering if her absolutely broken childhood and relationship with her mother is more to blame than genetic sexual attraction.

In less than six months, Americans have now seen the biggest and baddest of news organs fighting the stigmas attached to pedophilia, zoophilia and now incest. The last few years has witnessed a push for cuckoldry whether as a cool thing for the intelligentsia or something fun to try. This is along with pushing gays and now trans* on Americans. Those pushes are in conjunction but came after pushing interracial relations and even MILFs. Pornography has been pushing all of this as well. This is a decades long push to destroy the Christian safeguards on sexual behavior for building civilization. Why would the media do this? Maybe the media's representation has something to do with it. Is there a group out there that is gay at double the rates of others? Marries outside there group by over 50%? Maybe a weird circumcision ritual involving "oral suction" on young boys? Maybe a famous thinker of their tribe created an idea about being hot for mom? Does a group set their religion only through matrilineal descent, because you can never be sure of who daddy is? Does the group have a history as nomadic herdsmen with their flocks of sheep and long nights in the desert? Is this giant push of degeneracy just a way to call it all normal so that we view their customs as not completely demented and deranged? Yes.

This is Weimerica though so anything goes. Well, anything goes until the antibiotics lose their effectiveness. If Islamophobia is really the fear that rednecks were right all along about Muslims, then homophobia can be redefined to mean that Christians were right all along that gays were just the first stumble down the slippery slope. Incest, bestiality, pedophilia. It does not matter what comes next because they will all get their try eventually. The better approach would be to attack those connected individuals who always pick up the mantle for the newest right. It might not be enough to do it with essays. It might not be enough to stop watching their media productions that support explicitly or implicitly these deviancies. We might just have to pick up the pitchforks and light the torches. Problem is that we might have to or else we're looking at pre-K sexual training camps, required monthly wife swapping, and mandatory horse cunnilingus by 2030.

*Imitation is the highest form of flattery so thank you Saucer Lord of MPC.

The NY Times Hosts a Week of Putin Bashing by Jewish Ex-pats

The media is full of "Russia = Bad" signaling. It has been loaded with columns from the likes of Anne Applebaum, Masha Gessen, George Soros, and a lot of writers that I would never see in church on Sunday. Adding fuel to the American Jews hate Russia conspiracy theory, Gary Shteyngart penned an essay in the NY Times magazine about watching Russian TV for a week. There is a beauty to this in that we see the thede concept exemplified as suddenly Gary, who as a Columbia University professors, would probably pshaw at bourgeois American television to signal his elite status, will now mock Russian television as an inferior product and propaganda system. Switch him back to analyzing American television, and he would be bashing anything Americana or connected to Fox News. His essay is remarkable in its lack of self awareness as he watches Russian tv in the Four Seasons for a week, creating a running diary of sorts. This is an attempt at comedy, but it fails in an epic fashion since it is a word diarrhea of derision. This shall be a running diary of his running diary.

Shteyngart starts by mocking a Russian parody of the Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst. This is prog snark at its best. He mocks how the show is a bit honky tonk, the Russian MC of the show is assumed to be gay, an ultranationalist politician is the Russian Michele Bachmann, gangs of Russians are attacking gays calling themselves Occupy Pedophilia, and that evil Russians are not tolerant. His friend still in Russia warns him that Russian television is a "biohazard". This is an amazing lack of self awareness. Tolerance would be allowing Wurst to perform in the show. Glorification is having shim be the Austrian entry and then the winner of the entire exhibition. The Russians are the evil ones to not immediately hug, kiss and praise the newest oddity (trans*). Slipping in the odd comparison of a male Russian ultranationalist to Michele bachmann is a pretty funny one since first, Bachmann is no longer an active politician and second, American progressive political space is so pussified that he can only think of Michele Bachmann as a comparison. She was anti-immigration and barely allowed onstage to talk about it, and she is a woman. The bonus is that Shteyngart is calling Russian television a biohazard with no hedging at all that all television is a biohazard.

Day 1

Shteyngart starts with jokes on the Russian style of presenting and performing music. This takes a quick detour for him to bring the focus on the essay back to himself and mention bar mitzvahs in Queens and Brooklyn from his teenage years. He is an immigrant folks! Pay attention to his unique life experience! He cites the 432 Park Avenue tower and the potential for Russian purchasers of million dollar units. Ah yes, the oligarchs. What he avoids saying is that it is us Americans who are accepting their greenbacks to keep our bubble alive. Money laundering takes on national security importance in 2015 America.

There is then a switch into discussing the Sochi Olympics, and the geopolitical brouhaha of 2014. He mentions Ukraine, Crimea and oil. The Ukrainians had a pro-European revolution. That statement itself is propaganda. We know from the leaked Victoria Nuland (hmm, another American Jew) phone call that it was a US orchestrated coup after Yanukovych turned to Russia for a simple economic deal. Shteyngart cites the rise of propaganda as the oil price drops. He obviously is not a viewer of the nightly news in America or CNBC (no one watches CNBC). What is so different? Unemployment is down in the US to what 6%, yet why are there still nearly 50 million on food stamps and 9 million on SSDI? Why are wages stagnant if the labor market is to tight? The US news tells em the recovery is in year 6. Is American press not just the same state propaganda?

Day 2

The kernal of difference between this transplant and the subject of his derision might be best encapsulated in this little piece he chooses to insert in the diary. "'Love of homeland is one of the most powerful, elevating feelings,' Putin declared, with his patented affectless-yet-deadly seriousness." As a kid, I loved how Reagan spoke on camera, where he used his actor's charm to lure viewers in, and Putin is a head of state speaking. Some seriousness should be expected, but maybe Shteyngart is too use to our effete C-in-C speaking in cheesy clichés. The selection of the phrase contrasts with the American elite who switch between shame, embarrassment and hatred of their homeland. It also is a little insight into Russian born, American immigrant writer Shteyngart's point of view. As a conversation narcissist, he cannot prevent himself from injecting his crappy existence into the flavoring of this essay.

A rundown of the news points out the attractive, dead eyed men and women of the newscasts. Ah yes, these are so different from American news anchors. Shteyngart mentions the Putin tone that these anchors speak in as a way of speaking best captured as "out of my mouth comes unimpeachable manly truth". Manly truth. Definitely has connotations, but since it is from Putin, it is an evil. This is how the American left has neutered their male politicians and pundits. One cannot even speak in a manly tone. He does mention the ruble collapse and "gradual pauperization of his subjects". This is an odd mention and lacking self-awareness as Russia's middle class has slowly grown and become strong since Putin has taken power. The Russian Gini coefficient is actually better than America's, which is amazing because America is a much more diverse economy compared to Russian natural resources dependent economy. He finishes this day's diary entry by nitpicking the Russian propaganda point of neo-Nazis being in the Ukrainian government, which would have some credibility if not for the American left's equation of anything to the right of the National Review as mouth breathing Nazi Klansmen as a means to smear political opponents.

Day 3

We get a rundown of his little walk outside his "cage" at the Four Seasons. He eventually gets back to Russian tv to mention a news report, citing some violence in Kiev. He then snarks about the Russians waiting a whole minute before making a Nazi reference. Once again, tea partiers, Nixon, any Republican US presidential candidate since 1972, white gun owners, you name it, the American press has made a fine living out of painting anyone Nazis or invoking the name of Hitler. We have Godwin's Law for a reason, Shteyngart. Pot meet kettle, both of an Ashkenazi craftsman.

An interesting thing, yes there is one, is his mention of a Russian rom-com that is chaste. Like why aren't they showing the sex scenes, brah? This is a nice passage I will cut and paste.

I’m noticing a trend of movies about Russians in their mid-30s who are not yet married, a phenomenon confounding to most Russians who prefer to marry, have 1.61 children and then divorce early in life (according to the United Nations, Russia consistently has one of the highest divorce rates). Like most Russian rom-coms, the movie seems overly long, wordy and ridiculously chaste. Even a mild kiss fades out before anything can happen under the sheets.

Has he seen the garbage Hollywood churns out? Does he understand the American marriage market? Mid-30s not yet married might as well describe every Jennifer Ansiton, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson rom-com character despite a nation that marries at 26, has 2.1 kids and gets divorced 40% of the time. America is an equally hypersexualized nation and culture that will refuse to show the freaky under the sheets stuff in a rom-com and keep things to kisses onscreen. This seems inserted more for Shteyngart to stab at the Orthodox Church. A "new conservatism" that is butting heads with the "progressive notions the Soviet Union instilled". Those beautiful progressive notions that were instilled with a bloody revolution and savage killing of millions of Russians. Wonder what group was overrepresented with that Revolution and social reform in the old USSR. That was when Russia was good, not now with their nationalist stance.

Day 4

More derision at Russian news citing Nazi references. Since Shteyngart didnt come to the US until the late '70s, he missed McGovern campaigning in 1972 and calling Nixon and his administration a Nazi and Klansmen despite expanding affirmative action. He mocks a women shown who calls herself ordinary and can shoot a gun and catch ducks. I guess Russian rednecks are open targets for derision. he follows this up with a lunch with writer Anya Ulinich and professor Olga Gershenson. SIGNAL: writer and professor means good, educated Russians so trust them! There is another signal here, but you must look a bit deeper. A Russian friend of mine in college said, "If the name ends in -ich and it is not the patronymic, it's a Jew". You're not going to believe this but Anya and Olga are two more Russian Jews living in America. Guess what? They blame Putin for bad stuff happening! Oh man, I know, totally out of left field. The one positive that they all say about the Russian television programs: a man and woman clad in leather dancing and appearing to have "leather intercourse" is an "amazing" and "kind of cool" ballet. Approve the weird! USA, USA, USA!

Day 5

He has a psychiatrist. The shrink visits him. The entire diary entry for Day 5 is his little session with the shrink. "Hi, this is Stereotypes Incorporated calling? This is a worn out cliché that might qualify for a hate crime in certain jurisdictions." The narcissist brings it all back to him and his struggle. The amazing lack of self awareness is on display as he does not notice with all the American movies on Russian tv he is writing about and basic propaganda, that it is the same over here. Same garbage. I wish I could say this is fictional, but there is a picture of him with his shrink.

Day 6

True or not, there is comedy to his mentioning all of his drinking. Very Russian. Nice touch. The one thing I find unbelievable is the Four Seasons room service lady has a Russian name. She isn't Central American? Surprised. He notes a Maury Povich style paternity test show, but he is so out of touch he calls it a Jerry Springer style show despite Maury taking over as the Jewish daytime talk show host who rides a gimmick into the ground. Oh the agony of watching Russian state TV! He is spared by breaking his rules and cheating (stereotype much?) by going to progressive Russian news site (Slon) that his friends (good Russians) "subsist" on that he calls the "Slates and Salons of Russia". That is damning by what he considers great praise. Who are the good Russian who read Slon? Why they are mirror images of the good American who read Slate and Salon here, "mainly younger and urbane". Russia must have SWPLs, too, wearing horn rimmed glasses and hating their country. Yes, because cultural leadership by SWPLs and hipsters has worked wonders for the west for 50 years.

Day 7

Celebrating Orthodox Christmas is beginning on Russian state TV. he will not be celebrating. Neither will his new visitor, Russian born novelist and journalist, Keith Gessen. Is he? No, it can't be another. It is Masha Gessen's brother! We have another Russian Jewish American immigrant to add to the essay for Putin bashing. That makes it 5 for 5 in this essay. Is it too late to start up that "American Jewish Conspiracy to Destroy Putin and Russia" website? Gold, Jerry! He remarks how the Russian news does not feel like the news but "a message sent to you by the Kremlin". Keith, can I call you Keith, what amount of American coordination between the Obama White House and the American media does there need to be before you say the same thing here? Gessen and Shteyngart discuss a wild rebel commander, Batman, who was killed by other rebel leaders or Russian for being too out of control. Weird how the Ukrainians are not doing that with their neo-Nazi buddies.

There is another passage that is beautiful in it's lack of self-awareness. The writing is well done, and is nice to see from a professor.

Putin stands there, the centerpiece of his tableau, a contented man. Therein lies the brilliance of Russian television and why watching a week of it has been so painful. Unless you’re a true believer, its endless din just reminds you of how alone you are in another man’s designs. That man is Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. These are his channels, his shows, his dreams and his faith.

Shteyngart is confident of the 2015 Channel 1 news being seen as horrible as old Soviet news documentaries. He cannot bear to put the American product under the same microscope. Loving one's nation, traditional approaches to family life and other hick sentiments are more the historical norm than glorifying gays, pushing BDSM and whatever it is that Shteyngart and all of his guests' cousins in Hollywood and NYC are pushing on America. What is even weirder is the insinuation that the Russians are secretly gay themselves, which I thought was bad taste humor and homophobic when don in America. This essay is a failure at comedy. It does not work. It is very Daily Show in its attempt where it shows you the "other", points and laughs at it, expecting you to laugh along as it is the "other" and therefore dumb, crude and stupid. he is part fo the ruling class, and it is his right and privilege to point and laugh.

A Note on Ellie Goulding and Florence Welch

My wife and I were talking about singers and sexiness. Sexy is different than hot. For my money, the video for Janet Jackson's "If" is the sexiest music video in combination with the song ever done (hey it's the one Wikipedia source back to this little blog). Nowadays with so much music geared towards the teen and tween set, the sexy factor is gone. I stated the sexiest song the Hollywood producer brain trust could come up with would be an Ellie Goulding-Florence Welch duet with a sex beat (you know what I'm talking about), and they would be singing about being enthralled with or lusting over the same man.

Why? Goulding's voice is the voice of wood nymphs softly calling you deeper into the dark forest. You know it is frightening, and there are beasts there of unimaginable terror, but that voice lures you in with sword and shield.

She has another song about letting the world burn, and it sounds completely sexy. Can she do the next Bond theme? Florence Welch is a bit different. There is that power to her voice like she's going to yell at you to fuck her harder during sex. The passion might burn you out but God damn is it worth it.

There is that mix of force and pain to her delivery. She might love you, but she might stab you if things do not end well. I love her voice. That delivery is not taught. That is innate.

Why do guys like artistic women? Those dating surveys usually find that women who put artistic in their profile get a more positive reaction. It probably appeals to male vanity. We men want to think we are the inspiration for such an awesome, emotional performance, and what is art but an expression of the human condition. What makes Jimmy Stewart finally get it in It's a Wonderful Life? He has to see his hot wife be an Old Maid because he wasn't around to give her a nice family life. As if she wouldn't have been snapped up, but he needed to see that fantasy. Men want to think that great stage show whether a soulful vocal performance or dance solo is for them. As if these talented beings taking human form for five minutes would use their power solely for us men. "See, she has this seductive power, but she is choosing to use it on me, as if she has to try to seduce me and impress me, when I want her anyway." Stevie Nicks made a career out of this. We all want to think the nymph picks us. It's as old as Greek mythology.

Have a good weekend.

Sex, Booze, Teachers and Guns

"Honey, you still tracking teachers who seduce students?"

"Of course, there are too many for even my eye, give me her name and the link."

"No, read it."

"She gets her own post."

Please do read the details of this teacher's degeneracy and criminal behavior. Adult educators who have sex with 12-17 year old students are broken somewhere inside. Teachers are modern saints to the progs. They tirelessly work the virtuous job of programming educating the young. If you want the reward and status of do-gooder, you might want to live up to a standard of living to match it. Just being an average human would help. Sexing up teenagers is not average. Michelle Ladd, age 41 and married, did not live up to any ideal.

Simple facts can take us through this horrific journey. The sheriff's department investigated her for over a year, so this arrest comes with some good cop work. Ladd had sexual relations with two of her students, age 17. In 2010, a student could not pay to reinstate his driver's license. Ladd said he could work her husband's farm to earn money for it. They started a sexual relationship shortly after that. In a move that will definitely hurt her plea bargain chances, she supplied the minor with alcohol. It did not stop there. She bought him not one but two cars. All while this teen was working on her husband's farm. Farmers, soil of the earth. Farmers wives have changed since the Dust Bowl.

Sure there was some extra money involved with the gifts of cars, but that is not too weird. Teachers get busted for this every week. Wait, I only typed about one of the teens. The other teenage was a student Mrs. Ladd visited in the Kinsey Juvenile Detention Center. See, Mrs. Ladd worked in the alternative schools system for struggling kids. The detectives think that the sexual relationship started after his release from juvie. She sexed him up and bought him alcohol like the other teen. Where her story gets weird is that she also bought him guns. A teen sent to juvie and in a school program for struggling students might not be the best person to give a gun to, but Mrs. Ladd bought him weaponry. At least she didn't just steal her poor farming husband's shotgun to give to this little crook.

Someone get me on the phone with a class action lawsuit specialist. Mrs. Ladd, you just might be the final push for a lawsuit against the NEA. Look at that chart of their rising assets.

Gold and the Strong Dollar Illusion

The markets are a rigged game. Even Rolling Stone sportswriter Matt Taibbi's reporting explained that in clear language. The frustrating market is the gold market. It, along with the silver market, exhibit many signs of manipulation. It also seems stuck despite the money printing going on all over the world. Do not fret. Reality will assert itself. It always does. The train may be late, but I can hear it in the distance.

Complaining about gold having a stagnant year? Over the last year, gold started a little over $1300 an ounce and is now a little under $1300 an ounce. Unimpressive to gold holders. In the same timeframe, the US Dollar index has risen from 80 to 94. Gold has not been pummeled like other commodities despite the +/- 20% rally in the dollar. The dollar appearing to be the cleanest dirty shirt in the world is only going to last for so long. We are all still set up for a new QE, so one wonders where the new bubble or flood of dollars will go to. The last time the system feared a "Grexit", the price of gold shot up to all time highs nearly touching 2,000 an ounce. We are once again facing a Grexit or an ECB print fest. Why isn't the speculative bubble here?

The additional weird thing going on is the steady buying all around the world. Shanghai had seen a constant dozen tonnes of gold delivered every week. This changed a week ago, when Shanghai saw 23 tonnes delivered a day for the week. That level of deliveries was last seen in 2013. Monday and Tuesday saw over 50 tonnes delivered. Last year saw the highest level of gold purchasing by global central banks in 50 years at nearly 500 tonnes in total. There is one major caveat to that number, making it a floor. China is excluded from those numbers. If you think China is not buying any gold for their reserve stockpile, you are fooling yourself. Why isn't there a speculative bubble here?

The other head scratcher is the gold miner sector. Here's the set up. There is demand for the product from large buyers unseen since the '60s. There is a steady price despite a rise in the dollar. There is a huge drop in raw costs for producers with the drop in the price of oil. Their production costs are all lower now with a steady product cost. This should be a slam dunk. If anything, the Chinese should be snatching up Western mining firms (and undeveloped African properties) or their assets. Why isn't the speculative bubble here?

I'm a big believer in holding physical gold rather than using the GLD ETF. I recently found out a little fact about the GLD ETF that made me feel more secure about this approach. The GLD gold holdings are in a custodial vault. Who is the custodian? None other than HSBC. HSBC has been in the news recently for piddly little fines for money laundering for drug dealers and other shenanigans in our banking system. I have little faith in HSBC.

The real trick the financial-academic elite are playing is in boosting dollar strength to allow American dollars to suck up foreign assets cheaper. No QE, threats of raising rates (stop laughing), and chaos elsewhere pushes money into dollar financial assets. What is that dollar strength though? The BRICs are not acting like it is strong. The Russians used last month's crisis to drop over $8 billion in dollars. Convenient excuse for dumping. Zero Hedge reports today they have dumped 20% of their USD holdings, and China dumped dollars, too. Still, we're told the dollar is strong. Look at how the USDX weighting is set up (via La Wik's article).

  • Euro (EUR), 57.6% weight
  • Japanese yen (JPY) 13.6% weight
  • Pound sterling (GBP), 11.9% weight
  • Canadian dollar (CAD), 9.1% weight
  • Swedish krona (SEK), 4.2% weight
  • Swiss franc (CHF) 3.6% weight

  • That is roughly 70% of the USDX weighting against dead men walking currencies. That weighting is the weighting of an old order. A Euro disintegration would have replacement of the euro's 57.6% undoubtedly by pieces of the EU, but would the yuan, ruppe, real, ruble or other currencies find a way to sneak into the mix. Wouldn't the BRICs have a legitimate claim compared to post-euro destroyed European pieces? If they did, would the USDX be so high? What will take the yen's place when it crashes? Unknown, but there are Asian nations itching to take their place.

That is the big trick though. Everyone is itching for a place at the table, making a new table or just breaking the current one. We will see who makes the first move.

How to Resurrect a TV Series

The Breaking Bad spin-off for Bob Odenkirk "Better Call Saul" starts up on AMC. Odenkirk is a hilarious guy who I am not quite sure can carry a series but is awesome in small doses. His style and antics seem to fit that Jeremy Piven in early Entourage days where you love to see him enter a scene but for a full 30 to 60 minutes, you might get tired of his gimmick. Odenkirk was awesome in one episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm as "Porno Gil". A preview for the new Breaking Bad spin-off on Grantland mentioned how some series can never be revisited. The writer cited The Sopranos, which was the show that kickstarted the Golden Age of television storytelling that we are supposedly in today. One could return to the Sopranos universe if handled well, and here's how Chase and company could do it.

The frustrating finish to the series left people wondering if Tony was shot or not at the end. I side with his was shot from behind. Chase came out and said "no, he lived". I think Chase's ending was fantastic, and us moderns just couldn't accept it. Chase could bring back the Sopranos crew for a mini-series, maybe four episodes tops. Starts the mini-series in the diner again, except the opening shot is filmed from behind Tony and shows the "members only jacket wearing man" coming out of the bathroom and shooting Tony in the head. The mini-series is how everyone else reacts and handles his departure. As Chase explicitly stated, these mobsters were scumbags, they were horrible people, and they still made people cheer for them. Tony's intelligence (smart guido) and his natural charm and leadership held that rickety ship that was the family together. The mini-series would focus on life after Tony. Because James Gandolfini is dead, they cannot shoot new scenes with him but that is not the point. How do the scumbags carry on? Do they survive an onslaught from the NY families? What happens to that harpie Carmella? How do AJ and Meadow react? As much as the show was about the mob, it was about the unraveling of Boomer family life and cultural change. The mini-series would explore this idea, which was the story behind the Mafia set pieces. If anything, it may be more appropriate with the loss of the great patriarch both in his family and his mob family.

Through the years, I have waited for one of these upscale dramas to take a leap and do this with a final season. With a lead alive and not dead, you start the final season with the lead's death. The rest of the season is the characters struggle with dealing with the loss of X, including flashbacks that reveal the state of their universe and the lead before the death. A perfect show set up for this was Mad Men. Don's spiral downward is what Matt Weiner has hinted at for years, yet somehow he still writes Don as getting a big win. Weiner has a giant ego, but not big enough to commit to the downer ending that is a slow motion collapse over the last two seasons. While I loved Mad Men, I really disliked the introduction of new characters and weird diversions when what I, and many of my peers, want to see the resolution and where this is going for Don and Co. Imagine Mad Men starting the final season with Don Draper found dead, bloated and reeking of alcohol in his apartment all alone. The season weaves the story of how the company and his family process his death with the story of how he got there. We know the ending (Don is dead), but we are sucked into how did this happen and what are these fools going to do now?

This will not happen. it would be fun and different, but I am just a blogger, not a Hollywood producer. Leaning on an old Hitchcock approach, sometimes the suspense and anticipation is not purely in the event, but in how people handle the event and learning what the mysteries were behind it. LOST had a bit of fun with this when LOST switched to the flash forwards instead of the flash backwards. Of course, J.J. Abrams screwed up LOST with the time jump and some other weird choices, but hey the guy needs to focus EVERY STORY ON PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIPS. Maybe this would be a bad story-telling device, but wasn't it great fun when Breaking Bad started the pilot with Walt in the desert with a gun, and the entire pilot was how he got there? The death of a lead, especially one with as much audience, script and character development as a Don Draper or Tony Soprano, in the first scene of the final season would be one helluva hook for those of us at home. How did Don lose it all? How did Tony let his guard down? What will the island of misfit relatives and friends do now that the big cheese is gone? Did they still need him? Is that why he died a depressing, sad ending?

The Pain to Social Security if Shale Busts

The USG is pretty happy with itself over the oil weapon. "Har-har, we can stick it to the Russians like in the '80s. Unlike them, we're invincible." Did anyone wordcloud President Obama's State of the Union? I swear "one country" was said a dozen times. Like asking someone what the status of your relationship is, if you have to say it, things are tenuous and shaky. One thing, maybe the only thing, that holds the nation together is Social Security. A very important side effect of bursting the shale bubble to get the Russians is what effect does this have on Social Security. The US could be in for a bumpy ride a lot quicker than the mandarins think.

Now every year there is a scare piece written about Social Security (SS). This year's best one even mentioned the evergreen nature of these types of pieces. One of my favorite financial writers, Brice Krasting, pays attention to SS numbers, and he did not like what he saw in mid-2014. While the first link is worried about the funding and cites how if certain numbers are hit, payments automatically drop 20% for all (SSDI), Krasting is worried about conflicting numbers. The CBO says the permanent tax fix is now a full 4% (awful) and SS Trust Funds deplete in 2030, while SS numbers are 2.8% for the tax fix and a run out of 2033. Keep these numbers in mind because no permanent and immediate tax increase is coming as it would suck money out of the rickety economy and the Trust Fund depletion date is now 2030, which is the moment all SS benefits drop simultaneously by law due to Trust Fund depletion. The scary part is what follows.

These estimates were from posts in 2014. This is pre-shale rig count collapse. All rigs employ men. All rigs contract with suppliers, transportation crews, machinists, etc. to work the rig. Those firms have vendors that supply them with equipment and services. An example you may have never considered is simple fire and safety consulting. Those guys train and can be contracted to fight fires on the rigs if need be, for a high price as it is dangerous. Mud logging is not a sex act but a recording of oil drilling data. It is a super safe job, it pays well and it employs men without college degrees. Shanking the oil price hurts marginal production, which hurts American shale production. This will hurt our employment numbers and the quality of employment in the American, Frankenstein economy. This will make SS numbers look much worse.

A lot of people have seen the above chart about how Texas is the reason for job growth in America since 2009. That is oil, and then the knock on effect of oil infusing the local economies. If you gave the chart a third line with North Dakota and made the US chart, US-ND/TX, it would look even worse and that is all oil. Zero Hedge has fun noticing how all other job growth is waiters, bartenders and hotel workers. Those are not high wage earners and they also have variable earnings that are not perfect payers into the SS system. Oil jobs pay well, and the SS taxes collected on those jobs, fill the coffers well. With many oil industry jobs reaching that 100K level, these men (and few women) are topping out SS tax payments into the system. You cut these jobs, and you have cut huge payers into the system when no other industry is hiring.

You think health care is going to fill the gap? Sorry, but many large health care systems have shed jobs and others have cut people back to under 30 hours per week to escape Obamacare. Three LPNs at 29 hours is like two at full 40 hours but no benefits! Large systems like Aultman Health spent the 2010 to present years spending money on capital equipment that they could then lay off employees, shedding payroll. They also have been buying clinics, laying off redundant staff while keeping critical skilled employees. This is happening all over America. Sorry to burst your bubble, but banking, education and government are all tapped, too. I work with a wide variety of sectors of our economy, and when I ask who is hiring, it is no one except the oil industry. There is no replacement for those great paying oil jobs.

A dip in the jobs numbers from a shale bust will accelerate the problems in SS. This is a major problem, because when the SSDI benefit cut date happens, the elite will have 8.8 million people angry. If the elite borrow from SS retirement funds to patch the disability program, then the 2030 number gets pulled closer. That is before revisions to the 2030 happen with the drop in shale jobs. Pull the 2030 number into the 2020s, and it becomes a decade out. No need to provide a link, but Boomers have not saved for retirement. If people who paid in for forty years don't get their payment, and it is all they have, "one country" isn't going to be enough to keep them peaceful. This is all before I even touch government expenditures on national debt interest if interest rates normalize in any little bit. The Happening could move up a bit closer. Dear USG, I hope trying to hurt Putin enough to secure prized possessions Ukraine and Syria is worth destroying the shale oil sector and whatever knock on effects it may have. Maybe we'll make it to the 250th America the Beautiful celebrations.

The Orchestrated Attack on Russia Failed

A steady theme in my humble geopolitical writing is the desire of China, Russia and some rising large nations to build a separate world system. The USG dominated empire is a system. The major weakness to that system now is money. The problem with attacking the monetary system head-on, even if opposing nations are stockpiling dollars and assets, is that the US controls the levers to the system. This is why Russia and China are coming together to form an independent rating agency. This is why Russia is forming an alternative to SWIFT. A BRICS banks sounds silly, but there must be an IMF-World Bank alternative. This is why nations are stockpiling gold and crude oil. They all fit together. The world witnessed this fall and winter an attack on Russia using the might of the financial-media side of the USG leviathan. The attack failed. Looking at the coordination involved, one can see why these other powers are trying to slay the USG beast on an alternate battlefield with the construction of the attack.

Even before getting to December's events, why Russia? First, Russia is back to being the main adversary in the eyes of the USG (especially the media). Vladimir Putin, for all his warts, has symbolically become the embodiment of the one man standing up to the excesses of the USG war and profit machine. A comical way of looking at it is that the KGB might have been set up as one nationwide, multi-decade filtration program to find the one man capable to defeating the multi-headed beast known as the USG. Russia, along with help from China and even American military sentiment, stood up to Uncle Sam in Syria, preventing more Raytheon profits and securing Assad. Russia has also been enjoying their proxies in the Ukraine beat up on a shabby, demoralized Ukrainian national army. The other big problem, is that he does not play ball. By even mentioning gold and wanting to form a rival monetary system, he threatens the progs in control of the USG by not allowing for global money printing forever to keep every social welfare plate spinning. Playing hard with commodity competition is a threat even if all nations continue to print now. Russia must be punished, and Vlad must go if possible.

How does the USG pull it all together? Russia's weak spot is its dependency on oil revenue. Oil had been heavily financialized in the US as well with massive lending to the shale patch, pushing up production. Hedge funds were pretty long in their oil trade positions even as late as December. The key was getting the Saudis to open the spigots no matter the price of oil. I wrote on this last year as a reuse of the oil weapon from the conspiracy theory of the '80s, and the New York Times revealed it is a real ploy now to stop Russian support of Assad. That also hurts Iran so the Saudis were eager to help out. The keep pumping message is far different than the Saudi talk of $100 oil being a good, normal level for oil now. This benefits the leftist establishment holding the White House today in a variety of ways. Lower gas prices help a consumer tapped and left to spend money only on health care. The shale patch, a phenomenon only on private land, bust hurts donors for the other side, hurts employment in red states, and can cause fire sales of assets by producers to majors and banks.

The threat to the USG is the continued strength Russia and Putin show. Russia further defies the USG monetary system with the announcement by the Russian Central Bank that they would finish building its SWIFT alternative by the end of May 2015. The price of oil had been declining for months, but the heavy movement to the Russian ruble was in late November (the last week). The ruble, a traded currency on Western markets, was then shanked in mid-December by the Western banks who cut off liquidity. The rating agencies jumped in on the action and mentioned threats of debt downgrades or cut the ratings quickly. S&P downgraded Russia. In *ahem* unrelated news, the S&P settled the longstanding lawsuit with the federal government for a billion dollar fine, no jail sentences and a "so sorry" over the American financial crisis bad rating shenanigans. Even if all trading turns back to normal for the ruble from a mechanical standpoint, all rating changes now set the game up differently. The difference between investment grade and junk sovereign is significant.

The Saudis, the banks and the rating agencies were not alone in this effort. They had help. The media came to their aid by falsely reporting that Russia was selling gold reserves to keep the ruble stable. Business Insider corrected the report, but the initial report was allowed to go forward with sloppy translating as an excuse. The media also spread the idea that Russia could have a sovereign default just like in 1998. George Soros made public statements about a Russian default. What the media did not bother to explain was that 2015 is not 1998 and even in 1998, the Russian default took many people by surprise since Russia's sovereign debt load then was around 40% of GDP. It is around 13% today. The media pushed this because they, like George Soros, want to see Russia punished, Putin gone, and all those Russian oil and mineral deposits under Western financial control (Jew-Russian ethnic tensions as well). This is the same George Soros who visited Ukraine recently and then the Ukraine announced a draft of 50,000 men. The media entertainment wing has even added to the propaganda messaging with not one but two separate shows about Russian spies in the US, The Americans and Allegiance. As a child of the '80s, I do not recall any shows like that, but we were suppose to "understand" the Soviets back then. An extra month of media worrying about default would spoke even more marginal holders of Russian debt. Keep in mind, European bond yields have compressed despite nothing being fixed.

The media's role had a weird addition of seed sprinkling in December that feeds into this attack line of thinking. On December 11th, Masha Gessen, Putin hater, cishet hater, gollum look-a-like extraordinaire, penned a column on how Putin had slayed the oligarchs. She cites the work he did exiling, jailing and stripping some oligarchs of their billions as well as incorporating them into his system. A bit like Mayor Daley from the words Gessen writes. There are no politically minded oligarchs anymore. Weird thing is how the Western media really takes to this Khodorovsky exile. First in October, he calls for Putin to face a crisis like 1917. In December, he has a follow up with Bloomberg about how he'd like to come to power, maybe coup, maybe just regime change but hey, no revolution. The Financial Times and the Guardian were next to provide an outlet for this former political prisoner, and in January, CNN gave him a forum to spit his game. The Jewish Business News has had plenty of articles on him, including his link to recently convicted political prisoner Alexi Navalny. Are protests in the midst of a currency crash easier to sell as organic and homegrown? Yes. The messaging is clear that the oligarchs are all gone or corrupt Putin cronies while Khodorvsky is the political prisoner (VICTIM) only wishing to integrate Russia into Europe (BE A COMPLIANT COG FOR USG). Khodorvsky, Gessen, Soros, and the US media... if I did not know any better, I would start a website about an American Jewish conspiracy against Putin to cash in on the Google searches.

The coordinated attack still did not work. While oil revenues are down, the Russians do not earn more currency and do face budget issues. They do also have cheaper exports now, which in the beggar thy neighbor, currency devaluation global game actually helps. They devalued without everyone else accusing them of unfairly devaluing. Russia was pushed further into a partnership with China as the Chinese extended a financial lifeline to the Russians in December. An important thing no Western media outlet mentions is that when Putin speaks and uses "we" in reference to Chinese and Russian views, the Chinese are allowing Putin to speak on their behalf. That is huge in signifying coordination and partnership, yet American media must always say Putin is isolated. The ruble is still at decade lows versus the dollar, but the currency run was stopped. It has been reported in the media that the Ukrainians have reached some cease fire deal, but the only one smiling at and after the conference was Putin. Secretary Kerry even stated that the US may remove sanctions on Russia.

Russia just showed other nations it is possible to withstand an American financial attack. Stockpile reserves, stand firm, make calm public announcements, and yes, do not fear China. If one were building an alternative financial system, what better advertisement for it than "We just stared down Uncle $am, and he blinked". This is why they are pushing for an independent rating agency, an alternative to SWIFT, a BRICs bank, making contact with smaller nations in potential client-patron set ups, and stockpiling gold. All of those tools are in the USG locker to be used to punish who they deem wrong today, using whatever client (nation, bank or rating agency) like a Godfather calling in a favor. With a competitive system or even just discordant voices for ratings, the USG financial attack system cannot move swiftly and in such a strong manner. This specific attack is not possible if the Saudis were Russian-Chinese clients. An alternative SWIFT, and the attack is weaker.

This is not over. Who is positioned best for the end game of the current system does matter. Whether protests of decent size show up in Moscow on March 1st, and if they inspire widespread calls for change that affect the Russian elite, does matter. Right now, one nation is developing a partnership with China and the other is confronting China in multiple areas. The short sightedness by the USG in using the power of its financial-media Wurlitzer in a drunken manner over piss ant regions like Ukraine is horrendous. Oil prices may drop, but dropping will spur demand and kill marginal supply, which will bump prices up again and all the while the Chinese don't stop stockpiling. We are in Peak Cheap Oil Cycles, and nowhere is the US changing its transportation system to reduce gasoline dependence (transportation fuel is half of all US oil use). The US has a secondary effect to worry about from shanking the shale patch, but they have become so short term in thinking, that it does not hit their radar. America's financial, military, foreign standing and moral authority are all lower than when Putin first rose to power. That is democratic politics in all its high time preference glory. It might not work against an autocratic authoritarian regime with a leader who can stay until he wants to leave or another authoritarian power with a 100 year timeline. These coordinated attacks by the USG system have worked so well for so long, that the shock comes when they start to fail. The shock will still not be enough for the American elite to recognize how the game had changed and will only keep changing out of their favor.

    Football is THE Men's Game

The Super Bowl is over, and the sports dead period has begun. This is the same period of the year where they slip in all of the award shows for the entertainment industry. I grew up in a sports family. My dad's family was a huge baseball family, still is. My mom's family was football, as my uncle was a quarterback for a high school state championship team and a cousin was all state as a linebacker. I played the normal American three, football-basketball-baseball, all growing up. Baseball was my least favorite. Football was my favorite. I played quarterback. We were the only team that the coach sent in plays using hand signals. I was 12, so this was unique. I never got why my coaches in school wouldn't trust me with signaling in plays when I was doing it at 12. Football is the guy's game. It captures being a man and gives every man an opportunity.

You need to work as a team but also do your specific job well. You need to know how your job fits in with the whole. You build a drive or stop a drive. You need strength, speed, vision, intelligence and stamina in a variety of doses. You need to be aggressive but you can't have a loose cannon. No passing play is successful without an offensive line doing their job. No goalline stand works unless all defensive linemen generate a push. You have a head coach, a father type figure, and plenty of assistants, your uncles. There is an honor to the game. Help up your teammates and even opponents. Even if you did not play in school, backyard football games are guy time.

Football also gives every man a job. Baseball is such a skill sport that if you can't hit, you're done no matter how strong or fast you are. After a certain level, you need to hit a high number on the radar gun to pitch. Basketball is skewed significantly towards height. Fat guys don't usually play long in either baseball or basketball. Hockey involves skating, which makes it the most difficult sport of all the majors. Football allows every man to compete. Fast guys, strong guys, smart guys, agile guys all have a job. A fat friend who doesn't run well can still be a lineman and knock you down. A fast skinny friend afraid of contact can still play wide receiver or defensive back. Strong guys who are just a step slower than your fast friends can still play a variety of positions. Skinny or fat, short or tall, it does not matter. You can always put a game together with as few as 4 guys, and the more the merrier.

I love football. This post is basically a response to the whining on Return of Kings. One writer is in Seattle, so his area is undergoing what Red Sox fans experienced during the boom times of the 2000s with the Pink Hat invasion. The sport becomes a social thing, including a place to be seen. Women will leave the moment the Seahawks start losing again. I'm a season ticket holder, women shout for the big hits and violence just like the guys. My favorite fellow ticket holders are a brother-sister duo that drink a lot, high five and swear just like a duo of guys would. My mom loved football because of her brother and family. She loved watching me play, and she was the one to cry when I couldn't play due to an injury anymore. She still watches NFL games with me and my dad if they visit during NFL season. Is this a horrible feminization of my sports experience? No, but I'm not a sad MGTOW, looking at every negative for validation of my worldview.

Yes, let's whine and bitch about the invasion of women into football. Oh noes! Keep crying guys. Maybe it is time you realized that our modern world is a Matrist society. Yes, more women are fans now of the game, but quit your bitching. An invasion of space where you can't talk about everything? Are you talking about sex while watching football? Christ man, give it a 3 hour rest. Professional football is a business. Right now they are trying to hook the marginal viewer in any way they can, which means silly pink jerseys for women and having September be Hispanic heritage month (seriously). You're still likely to just watch games with the guys. You're still going to just play the annual Thanksgiving pick up game with the guys. You're still just going to have your son be the one lacing up cleats to play. The advertising for No More has been annoying, as has the pink in October for breast cancer, but women will find something new to move onto within a few years. The few that remain will be knowledgeable fans or at least wives who will watch football with you on the couch for a Sunday afternoon. Oh the humanity, a woman who doesn't gripe about your sports fandom.

    Who Won the Divorce?

Who won the divorce? That is a question that is the older version of the college and high school question of "who won the break up". Who gets the friends? Who did better? Who got over who faster? Besides the manosphere weeping over divorce theft (real) and the horrors of a divorced man faces (child custody horror is real), not all is a loss. After a while, one has to wonder if all the fear mongering over how bad marriage and then divorce are is to keep young men in the skirt chasing phase to keep readership up. There is another gauge for who won the divorce that sometimes takes years to keep score of, but there is usually a very obvious winner. We will use the Amy Poehler and Will Arnett divorce as a guide. Who are the two divorced singles sleeping with now?

Will Arnett is sliding up next to this 28 year old honey.

    There were better pictures

Amy Poehler is in a relationship with this catch... forget it. Just Google Nick Kroll. It's too sad to even consider when there is no way Amy Poehler has a new mate that tops Arnett's new squeeze. Okay, here he is.

    Best pic I could find

"Scoreboard!" From a looks perspective, Arnett wins, but do not count out Poehler's new beau's billionaire parents. Yes, he has no talent but parents rich enough to buy off everyone. You've probably seen this in real life as the sexual market values youth, low BMI and beauty in women, while men can appreciate like a house if they have enough other good qualities and consider women who may have daddy issues. If you have aunts who have been married 3 times, I bet their 2nd and 3rd husbands look worse than the first. If you have a divorced uncle, I bet he can date down in age easily. The dysfunctional modern world provides a large pool of unattached women over 30, and sadly now, many without kids.

Marriage is a pretty bad deal from the court perspective, but generally it is the best way to have kids. An alternative is if you could talk your lady into getting "married" to everyone but the government. This way, as a single mom, she gets the government benefits but you live as a married couple would. I know one couple who have done this, and my wife and I sometimes think "Damn, why didn't we think of that". This is residue of the messed up government interference in social matters, and the desire to cause more harm and destruction that will lead to higher use of government social services. Gentlemen, she may get half, and if you live in an awful state, she may get alimony. She may get the kids for a majority of the time, but she'll get the kid headaches, too. Your friends may all abandon you, some will pick sides but some will stay friends with both of you. Before you settle on who won the divorce, pay attention to your new lovers. The scales there are tipped in your favor.
